Your first little steps
- Open Baby Stats and set up your baby’s name, birthday, your caregiver name and preferred volume unit.
- Log a feed, diaper or other care entry after it happens. Save entry stays above the keyboard.
- Open Family to invite your partner and choose this phone’s reminders and live tracker preferences.
Baby Stats runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later. Private sharing requires each caregiver to have their own Apple Account with iCloud enabled.
Everyday questions
How do I invite my partner?
The journal owner opens Family → Invite partner / manage sharing and sends a private invitation. The partner opens the invitation and confirms joining. Both people can then view, add, edit and delete entries.
Joining switches the active journal; it does not merge unrelated journals. The app preserves a local backup of the previous journal before switching.
An entry hasn’t appeared on the other phone.
Open Baby Stats on both phones and pull down on the day view, or use Family → Sync now. Offline changes wait for connectivity, and iOS may delay background updates.
The saved receipt means your entry was saved on this phone. iCloud completion has a separate status. Follow the displayed error’s retry action and check that iCloud is enabled.
Use Copy sync details when contacting support. Avoid reinstalling as a troubleshooting step: your phone may contain entries that haven’t synced yet.
How do I log breast and bottle together?
Choose Both when logging a feed. Enter bottle volume and whole nursing minutes for each side; blank minutes count as zero. Baby Stats counts this as one feed and includes both the bottle volume and nursing minutes in your totals.
You can choose mL or ounces in Family. Open a saved entry from the journal to edit it.
How do reminders and the live tracker work?
Enable Feeding reminders and Lock Screen live tracker separately in Family on each phone. Reminders use your chosen interval from the latest logged feed and need notification permission.
The live tracker shows time since the last logged feed, not a manual nursing session. A Live Activity can last up to eight hours; opening Baby Stats can restart it.
Focus and iOS settings can affect notification presentation. A partner’s feed cannot adjust this phone’s reminder until it has synced. A selected interval is your timing reference, not a prediction of hunger or medical advice.
How do I add a widget?
Touch and hold your iPhone Home Screen, open the widget gallery and search for Baby Stats. Choose a size and add it. You can also find Baby Stats in Lock Screen customization.
Widgets show the latest journal this phone received. Open the app to refresh if something looks out of date.
Can I export or delete my entries?
Use Family → Export all entries as CSV to create a file you can save or share. Open an entry to edit or delete it.
Deleting hides the entry and syncs its deleted status. Marked deleted records, join backups and earlier exports can remain. Read retention and deletion details, or contact us for help before removing data.
Does Baby Stats give medical advice?
No. Baby Stats records information you enter and displays it back to you. It does not diagnose conditions, recommend medication doses or set a feeding schedule for your baby. Ask your healthcare professional about feeding or medical concerns.
